One reaction I got on my video was a suggestion on a very simple and efficient system to retain/secure the spark plug caps.
4 washers grinded down to oval shape, 2 holes in each washer and a piece of 4mm bungee cord…Adopted and implemented, thank you MichaeL!
This is a good "safety pin" solution, but wonder how long the bungee cord can withstand the 100-130 C on the cyl head. My experience with a bungee cord is that they get old very fast, especially when they exposed to heat and sunlight and they brake just when you need the most. What I use in my other head down is a spring. Old cars carburettor bowden springs from any junkyard will do.
ReplyDeleteHej Fred;
Regards/Saludos
Dimitri
Just a similar way was adopted by ICP on their Bingo 503 installaton.
ReplyDeleteI used for about 3 years 80 hours flight time, but had no need to replace them.
However I believe it is very inexpensive to change them once per year...
Hello, my name is Jordan and I live in Italy. I have an Avid Flyer engine Simonini Victor 2. I'm happy with the engine. I'm going on a cruise at about 130 KM / K 5ooo rpm. I had another Avid with Simonini, but vibrated so absurd. If you want to send you some pictures and a bit of commentary. My email address is: jordan007@tiscali.it Ciao, Jordan.
